Interview | vinividivici21's Blog

People are amazing sometimes...and, I mean that in a good way. Today I had to cover a seminar given by an astrophysicist from a university in TN about an observatory he conceptualized and built. As I feared, there was a lot of technical jargon involved. So much so, that I was wishing I was a science major about five minutes into the lecture. Granted, it was interesting, but the format of the lecture was clearly one that was geared towards educating faculty on what the observatory was and how it could be incorporated at my school. And then, I got to interview the professor giving the lecture. His passion about teaching and educating was palpable. And, his enthusiasm was contagious. He actually got a bit emotional when he started talking about how learning is community venture and that his classroom and his teaching environment is molded specifically to engage students and to reach them on a more profound level. I could see in his eyes how important his students were to him and how much personal interest he had vested in them. Overall, it was a wonderful and refreshing thing to see. Quite honestly, I think the world needs more professors like that. This Blog Entry's Comment Board There are no comments on this post yet, be the first to leave one!
